K-Meleon Optimization

Make One Of  The Fastest Browsers In The World Even Faster

by Rusi
K-Meleon is  fast and flexible web browser based on the Gecko layout engine developed and used by Mozilla Firefox. K-Meleon is Free, Open Source software released under the GNU General Public License. The program is designed specifically for Microsoft Windows (Win32) operating systems.
Here is a full plan for K-Meleon optimization that will make the browser even faster.
Go To Edit > Preferences or just press F2
Go to Page Display > Content Filters and Enable Flashblock in order to stop all Flash elements and save time.  If you are using YouTube too often you might want to Disable the Flashblock.
Now go to Browsing and delete your Home Page in order to save time while loading K-Meleon.
After that go to Browsing > File Handling and set a download folder.
Enable the option Save the file to the download folder and click on the Browse button in order to specify where you want K-Meleon to place your downloads.
Go to Browsing > History and disable K-Meleon's history. Yes, you might need the history in the future but removing it improves the speed of K-Meleon tremendously. At the same time you won't have to delete your history manually every time you do.....well, you know what.
Go back to GUI Appearance and disable all settings. They are far from essential anyway.

You don't need favicons, the throbber is just a small AVI clip that plays every time you load a page and the menu icons will have to go for the sake of better time response. Remember if you want something you have to give a little.
Now go to the At Startup tab and set the Windows size to Always maximize. This will make K-Meleon faster because the browser won't use resources to record previous windows resolutions settings.
Go to Privacy And Security > Encryption > Encryption Transmission and remove the annoying alerts. After all you will visit the "dangerous" web-page anyway.
