There are a lot of Free programs that are actually way better and faster that many of the popular software packages that cost a fortune.
Here's the list.
OpenOffice is one of my favorite free programs. It's a great software package that allows you to do tons of document editing. The package contains a lot of programs including a presentation software which in my opinion can fully replace Microsoft PowerPoint. However some people will have trouble using it because many employees are used to using Microsoft Office and the learning curve might take some time. Still, OpenOffice is a free and great alternative to Microsoft Office and offers you just as much.
When I first started using torrents I hated it. I was using some free torrent clients full of commercials and tons of stuff slowing the whole process. Recently I found a great torrent software - uTorrent. uTorrent is a great light and stable torrent client which is way faster than most of the paid programs. Give it a chance.

Google Chrome is my favorite browser. It's free, fast and the interface is pretty cool. The program is actually based on Mozilla Firefox which makes it even better because Firefox is a very stable browser. Give it a try if you are tired of Mozilla Firefox , Internet Explorer...
CD Burner XP
CD Burner XP is the best CD burner I've used. Most people tend to think that the commercial products are better than the free ones. That's true but only when you need professional programs. Try CD Burner XP and you may never go back to your silly burner that takes more than 30 minutes to install.
CCleaner is a great free program for PC cleaning. It will clean the registry, uninstall programs, remove unused programs from the start-up menu..
