Magic Tricks Revealed: The Moving Cigarette

There are a lot of ways to make a cigarette appear. For example it can get out of the packet all by itself. The whole trick is pretty simple and the picture below explains it very well. However you should take in considerations some guidelines.
Prepare the “adjusted” cigarette pack and put it in your pocket. Then use your hand to find out which is the side with the “extra” cigarette under the cellophane. This side should be facing you when you pull the cigarette pack out of your pocket. Your fingers should be placed on the front side of the pack while the thumb is on the back side and under the “extra” cigarette. Slowly push the cigarette using your thumb. If you do everything correctly the audience will be left with the impression the the cigarette is moving alone.
More powerful effect: After you are done just throw the cigarette pack on the table. There is no doubt that many people will try to take their hands on it in order to see if there is some kind of mechanism. But we now know that they will fail to find anything even close to that.
Looks simple but it takes practice.
