Subtitles in VLC Media Player

How To Add Subtitles In VLC Media Player And Customize Them To Your Preferences
Step 1: Download the needed subtitles for your movie.

Note: Most subtitles come in zip format so you will need a program like 7-zip in order to extract them and use them.

Step 2: Open VLC and load your movie.
Step 3: Load the subtitles
Right-click on the play screen and choose Video >  Subtitles Track > Open file
Go to the directory of the subtitles and load them.
This is it. Now you have subtitles but there is more to it.

Usually people found the default size of the subtitles too small especially if you are watching a movie with friends or family. It might be hard to see them from long distance.

Let's make them bigger.
Step 4: Bigger subtitles = smaller eye strain
Go to Tools > Preference or just press Ctrl + P
Go to Subtitles & OSD and make the font larger. You can also change the font if you don't like the default one.
Note: You have to restart VLC in order for the changes to take place.

That's pretty much it. Now you have BIg subtitles.
